arc 001   :   INFANCY.         HANS Ptáček CAPON OF PIRKSTEIN   is the only child of Lord Jeschke Capon of Pirkstein, the oldest child of Čeněk Capon of Leipa, and commoner Hedvika of Dubá. Hans's mother would die of sickness a mere month after Hans's birth in the early April of 1383. For five years, Hans was raised by a father who, too, died far too soon, dying in the summer of 1388. Čeněk ruled as the acting Lord of Rattay and carer of young Hans. Following Čeněk's death in 1395, Čeněk's younger son, Hanush Capon of Leipa, became the acting Lord of Rattay in 1395.

arc 002   :   CHILDHOOD.         SURROUNDED BY DEATH,   Hans's childhood was wrought with an anxious attachment to his carers, namely his nanny. By late childhood and early teenhood, however, with Hanush's rise to the Regent Lord of Rattay after Čeněk's death, he'd learn to hide behind an arrogant attitude and a superiority complex — an easy feat, having led a coddled, privileged life even before his father's death. Often at odds with Hanush, he took to archery and hunting to escape Hanush's hounding. And to escape responsibility, too.

arc 003   :   ADOLESCENCE.         BY HAN'S EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY in 1401,  Hanush had refused to contact the King nor Jeschke's council to confirm Hans's coming of age, citing Hans's immaturity as the reason for withholding Rattay. "No one in their right mind would consider you fit to rule!" Hans, enraged by Hanush's refusal and, most of all, Hanush's stringency that Hans had struggled with since childhood, rebelled further with women and wine. SHORTLY AFTER HIS TWENIETH BIRTHDAY IS WHEN HE MEETS HENRY OF SKALITZ, who he secretly admires and fiercely loathes.

arc 006   :   THE AFTERMATH.         FOLLOWING THE EVENTS OF KINGDOM COME: DELIVERANCE TWO,   Hans is living in the Devil's Den with Zizka, Dry Devil and the Devil's pack, Katherine, and Henry, romping around responsibly and dreading his arranged marriage.
